*PREVIEW ‘NOSTALGIA THE COUNTRY’ by PHOTOGRAPHERS*
ambient-folk-duo, Photographers, are releasing their LP, Nostalgia the Country, later in this, the 2012th year of our Lord. I hope it gets released sooner than later, because this music fits snugly with the weather outside us northerners’ windows. Frosty-ambient-atmospherics coupled with crystal-high harmonies courtesy of John Hanson and Maren Celest, the aforementioned duo. These are the right chords, the right words, the right instrumentation that fits a consistent mood and it permeates the record: BAROQUE INVIERNO, terse invitations, sullen warmth….and yes it is mood/trance music: it invites trance b/c it is smartly-crafted—we have the lows (blowy bass drums) and mids (arpeggiated strings with fun baroque-chords) and highs (vox and glocks, all day, baby). In short, it feels good, which in my book, is numero uno. I don’t “do” ratings, but if I did, this is getting MAD PROPS!!!
